i) OGD PARS – Canadian Pre-Arrival Review System
ii) OGD RMD - Release on Minimal Documentation
The Single Window Initiative (SWI) has two service options:
• Integrated Import Declaration (IID)
• License, Permit, Certificate and Other Documentation (LPCO Image)
SWI Program Benefits:
• Simplified import process
• Reduced paper
• Decreased cost of doing business
Traffic Tech is Ready!
The complexity of the new SWI program reinforces the need for additional training, and Traffic Tech’s IID certification allows us to get ahead of the competition. Currently, only 1 in every 6 brokerage houses is certified.
Under IID (Integrated Import Declaration) certification, we can process client shipments up to 90 days before the arrival of goods at the first point of entry into Canada or following the arrival of goods, including non-PGA shipments. This will give us the ability to set up our internal processes and streamline our client shipments with the least possible delays.
As of June 1, 2017, the CBSA started prioritizing the processing of transactions submitted through Single Window IID over the other release options (PARS & RMD). What does this mean for Traffic Tech clients? We are cautiously treating all our client’s shipments that are prioritized and processed by the CBSA over customs brokers that are currently not on the CBSA SWI system. Our vast resources allow us to anticipate these changes to effectively meet the clearance needs of our clients and continue providing the best in class services. It is our promise, it is our commitment.
